The alginophyte algae Cystoseira barbata (Stackhouse) C. agardh (1820) was cultivated in two different cultures for 28 days under greenhouse conditions. First group was kept in modified Johnson medium for 24 hours once a week then transferred to tanks with sea water. In the second group algae thallus were transferred in tanks enriched with modified Johnson medium. During the cultivation, the highest growth rates were determined as 0.03 day-1 for the first group, and as 0.02 day-1 for the second.
