Abstract

Seasonal Distribution And Sp ecies of Epilithic Algae in Dar Ã?â??Ã?± Ã?Æ?Ã?¶ren and Isparta Stream (Isparta-Turkey)

N. Lerzan ??EK

In this study, seasonal developments of epilihtic algae in Darıören Stream have been studied by samples taken monthly between May 2002 and April 2003 from six stations selected. Temperature (C°), pH, conductivity (EC), dissolved oxygen (DO), Ca++, Mg++, Total hardnes, Cl-, NH4-N, PO4-P, NO2-N, NO3-N, BOD5 were determinated. The epilithic flora and the frequency and the dominancy of identified species were determined. In the community of epilithic algae, members of Bacillariophyta were dominant and Cymbella affinis Kütz., Diatoma vulgare Bory., Gomphonema parvulum var. micropus ( Kütz.) Cleve, Meridion circulare Agardh, Navicula accomoda Hustedt, N. atomus (Naeg) Grun., N. gracilis Ehr., Nitzschia palea (Kütz.) W. Smith, Sürirella ovata Kütz., Tabellaria flocculosa Kütz. have been the most frequent species found. In addition to diatoms, the members of Chlorophyta, Cyanophyta ve Euglenophyta have been represented by a few species.
