This study was carried out in the northern Aegean Sea during August 2001. Distribution pattern was studied and community analyses of mesozooplankton were made at seven stations in the Turkish coastal waters of northern Aegean Sea. At all stations holoplankton dominated the assemblages (86-99%). Copepods were by far the most abundant taxon contributing 37-92%. The copepod species Acartia clausi, Paracalanus parvus, Mecynocera clausi, Oithona nana and three cladoceran species Penilia avirostris, Evadne tergestina and Evadne spinifera were important components of the zooplankton community in this study.
