Abstract

The effect of temperature on the growth of Hantzchia amphioxys (Ehrenberg) grunow isolated from the Homa Lagoon, Izmir

The aim of this study was to determine the parameters of growth kinetics (μmax Ks), carrying capacity (Pchla μmaxı, Ksı) and temperature of the benthic diatom Hantzschia amphioxys (Ehrenberg) Grunow. In this research, the impacts of light, temperature and nutrients on the growth of H. amphioxys were investigated under continuous-light period and batch culture conditions. As a results, the optimum light 52 μmol/m2 s (saturasyon light),intensities were found as 18°C.
