Abstract

The Effects of Trout Aquaculture Facility on the Source of Isparta Ã?Æ?Ã?â?¡andr GÃ?Æ?Ã?¶ksu to the Creek Water

Cafer BULUT

The source of Çandır Göksu in the Yazılı Canyon flows into the Karacaören I. Dam Lake. There are 8 facilities which have total production capacity of 820 ton portion size trout/year and 58 000 000 number trout fry/year on the Source of Çandır Goksu. In this study, it was in-vestigated the effects of the trout aquaculture facilities on the stream by means of monthly and seasonaly measuring the physicochemical and microbiological parameters in two stations se-lected on the Source of Çandır Göksu. Avarage values of important parameters in the 1st and 2 nd stations were found 13.8-14.2oC as temparatüre; 7.80-7.93 as pH; 10.28-9.73 as dissolved oxygen; 2.57-5.44 as turbitidy JTU; 30-50 mg/L as total suspended solid matter; 4.6-7.6 mg/L as biochemical oxygen demand (20oC); 19.3-25.7 mg/L as chemical oxygen demand; 11.13-15.11 mg/L as organic matter; 0.095-0.167 mg/L as orthophosphate; 0.024-0.043 mg/L as nit-rite; 1.86-2.36 mg/L as nitrate; 0.22-0.41 mg/L as ammonium; 1011-1279 L/sn as flow rate; 0.15-0.27 mg/L as total phosphorus; 100-4410 as total coliform; 1.19x104-5.24x104 as total bacteria, respectively. As a result, it was determined that the trout aquaculture facilities on the Source of Çandır Göksu have not polluted in unacceptable levels yet. But, it have been come to a conclusion that the wastes of facilities must not certainly given in to the stream and that it must be made environmentally friendly production for he sustainability of water resources.
