Dr. Maria Salsone?s research activity has focused on genetic, clinical, pharmacological, neuroradiology study of movement disorders, in particular of Parkinson's disease and of atypical parkinsonisms and on sleep disorders in particular REM sleep behaviour disorder. She graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology in 2000. She graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2006 and completed her residency in Neurology in 2012. Currently (2013 ? to date), she holds a position as a Research fellow at Institute of Molecular Bioimaging and Physiology, National Research Council (IBFM-CNR), Catanzaro, working on REM sleep behaviour disorder as prodromal marker of movement disorders to define the risk factors of Parkinson's disease and atypical parkinsonisms. Since 2014 she is lecturer of Neurology at the ?Magna Graecia? University of Catanzaro. Dr. Maria Salsone?s research activity consists of 52 publications in international peer-reviewed journals (H-index:19) and over 100 scientific contributions at national and international congresses and meeting. Since 2008 she is member of Italian Society of Neurology (SIN). Dr. Maria Salsone is reviewer for peer reviewed journals (Neurological Sciences and Movement Disorders) and member of editorial board of pharmacology online journal. Currently, she is member of the European Accademy of Neurology (EAN) Resident and Research Fellow Section (RRFS). Since 2008, she participated to research projects funding from various competitive sources (Ministry of Education, University and Research [MIUR] and National Operational Programme "Research and Competitiveness" [PON-Ricerca e Sviluppo]). Dr. Maria Salsone is author of 2 patents, a utility model application and a PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) patent application for the evaluation of REM sleep behaviour disorder (Device and method for the evaluation of neurodegenerative disorders). Recently (2015), she received 2 awards for research activity, the first from Italian Society of Neurology, dedicated to research and technological innovation ("Sleep Holter") and the second, from ?FB Health? dedicated to research and technological innovation ("Sleep Holter").
