Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology
Research and teaching interests focus on clinical neuropsychology, in particular, post-traumatic stress disorder in cancer survivors, retinoblastoma (childhood eye cancer), multiple sclerosis, and yawning as a diagnostic tool of neurological disease. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles in highly-rated journals in psychology and medicine (eg. Brain Injury; Neuropsychologia; Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience; Journal of Neuroscience & Rehabilitation; New Scientist; The Lancet; Medical Hypotheses; British Journal of General Practice; European Eating Disorders Review; Psycho-Oncology; Journal of Clinical Oncology; Parkinsonism & Related Disorders; Patient Education & Counselling). He has written 17 books, two adopted as core texts, more than 40 book chapters, and over 40 professional articles. He has delivered more than 40 keynote and invited lectures in over 10 countries and supervised more than 10 Doctorate students. He has also appeared on BBC Radio and Film.
