Baylor College of Medicine Houston, TX Post-Doc Associate (Supervisor: Dr. Arthur Beaudet) 2014-present Developing therapies using ASO (anti-sense oligos) to rescue Angelman Syndrome in animal model. (Collaboration with ISIS Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Carlsbad, CA) Developing NGS (next generation sequencing) based genotyping method for identify human fetus cells from NIPT (non-invasive prenatal test) patients. SUNY Upstate Medical University Syracuse, NY Research Assistance (Supervisor: Dr. Barry E. Knox) 2007-2014 Thesis Research: Studies on photoreceptor gene expression Developed a flow cytometer based FRET (forster resonance energy transfer) method to study protein interaction live cells. (Reconfigure a BD-LSRII flow cytometer machine and write a program to read and analyse flow cytometry data). Developed a tightly control inducible gene expression system in vertebrate retina. (very low background reporter expression before induction and hundreds of fold increase after induction) Developed a site specific transgenic method in Xenopus. (collaborated with Dr. Zuber lab) Xiamen University Xiamen, China Graduate Assistance (Supervisor: Dr. Boan Li) 2004-2007 Thesis Research: Primary study of the Inhibition of ACA on CRM1 dependent nuclear export ? ACA(1-Acetoxychavicol) is a natural chemical compound extract from galangal, which inhibit nuclear protein export and kill cancer cells in cell culture. Xiamen University Xiamen, China Undergraduate Student (Senior Project supervisor: Dr. Houcong Wang ) 2000-2004 Thesis Research: Use SSR molecular marker to analyze distant hybridization between rice and sorghum
