Ethnic differences in rhinoplasty

Abstract:

The nose is situated in the center of our face and its specially defining our shape. Therefore the nose has a considerable influence of the entire head. So it is not surprising that rhinoplasty is a one of the most performed surgical procedures among facial plastic surgeons around the world. Without contradiction it is one of the most challenging surgery. Due to the globalization different rhinoplasty performance of ethnic shapes is important for all surgeons to achieve an aesthetically pleasing nose. The author provides a short approach to different evaluation and improvement of surgical techniques. Different individual aspects in ethnic rhinoplasty are present: middle-eastern nose, asian nose, african nose, latino nose. Conclusion is a careful attention to preoperative evaluation and efficient and safe surgical procedure. Important is additionally the patients desire and to realize at least an aesthetically result.
