Cosmetic surgery of the female external genitalia has become hugely popular yet remains controversial due to ethical considerations and the unease over the continuing illegal practice of female genital mutilation in the UK. Labiaplasty refers to surgical reduction of the size of labia minora and is the most common performed procedure. We will discuss patient selection, techniques, results and pitfalls as well as patient motivation and satisfaction post procedure.
