Post burns and trauma scarring is a disfiguring challenging problem. The known surgical modalities for excision are excellent yet in cases with extensive burn or trauma scarring, hypertrophic or keloid scars that are inoperable for a period of time or need excision with further skin graft scaring .These scars recently were found to dramatically respond and amazingly improve to fat grafting which is generally becoming a promising attractive regenerative tool due to its content of stem cells. This presentation elaborates on the positive role of fat grafting on the healing process and scar improvement in general with a highlight on the scientific evidence behind it presenting cases that are ranging between adults and paediatrics.
Al Zamil Sabreen is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and head of plastic surgery unit at Al Babtain Center. She has completed her Graduation from Kuwait Medical school. In addition to Bachelor of Basic Medical Sciences, she is qualified with FRCSI2000 and FAAAM2013.She has studied in Canada and trained briefly in Italy. She is a Board Member and Co-Founder of the Kuwait Society Of Plastic Surgoens, Former Tutor at Faculty of Medicine /Kuwait Univerisy and proud to be the first Kuwaiti female Plastic Surgeon. In addition, she is a local and international Guest Speaker in Plastic surgery and cosmetology congresses. She is the Owner and Director of Public educator in various campaigns mainly breast reconstruction, burns and filler complications. She is Owner and Director of Sabreena Clinic.
