Abstract:

The study of various pathological features of the different lesions provides the basis of understanding of the particular disease process which is vital for the undergraduate medical students. The comprehension of pathological aspects of divergent diseases requires repeated revisions at the undergraduate level. The development of digital images and text regarding different lesions in the pathology has made it quite easy for the students to store them in their smart phones which they can study at their convenience with a possibility of multiple revisions. The stored digitalized static pathology in the smart phones may be used for education at the free times such as waiting time particularly during the travels. The present study revealed that 86% of the medical student used smart phone for the study of various pathological lesions. Seventy percent students expressed that use of smart phone has enhanced their learning. Fifty six percent students think that learning through smart phone is enjoyable. Forty six percent students believe that use of smart phone for learning and understanding pathology has improved their scores in the examinations. Sixty four cent student gave their opinion that they would use the application related to pathology if available. Fifty one percent students think that the smart phone helped them to learn pathology more independently.
