Clinical Evaluation of Gestational and Congenital Toxoplasmosis in Two Health Institutions in the City of Monteria, Colombia from 2015 To 2021

Introduction: Toxoplasmosis is a zoonotic disease widely distributed throughout the
world, caused by T. gondii, which infects various tissues and organs. Infection during
or just before pregnancy can cause congenital toxoplasmosis and cause serious
damage, especially at the CNS level. Objective: To evaluate the clinical characteristics
of toxoplasmosis in pregnant women and new-borns in two health institutions in the
city of Montería.
Methodology: a retrospective study was carried out in 2 health institutions in the city
of Montería, between January 2015 and May 2021, in new-borns of a mother with
