The Development of Age-Appropriate Creative Activities for Teaching Hand Hygiene for Kindergarten Children

Proper hand hygiene (HH) practice can effectively reduce the transmission of many infectious conditions among children in childcare settings. However, poor HH compliance is evident in young children, Therefore a 4-week educational programme that consider the cognitive developmental stage of children on increasing their knowledge and promoting hand hygiene practices was developed. Creative activities were planned for the illustration of hand hygiene concepts in terms of “right moments”, “right steps”, and “right duration”.
